I have a friend who is planning on a trip with a few of us up north next month. He currently rides an old kawasaki and has been complaning about getting old and needing a bigger bike. But like everyone, money is tight.
Last week I saw what apeaerd to be a nice deal on 1200 aspy and forwarded it to him.
The add claimed it was in perfect shape and he only was asking $2000.00.I thought if it was half what it was advertised as it was worth it.
Well, the friend procrastanated a couple days, and got approval from his wife and finally called on it,but got no response for 2 more days.I was convinced it was sold.
Finnally the guy calls him back saying his wife posted it to soon and that they where out of town, with way to many messages on the bike. For some reason called him first. He imiediatly left work and drove up with cash in hand.
Sitting in the corner of the garage, with a thin layer of dust and slightly soft tires with no attempt to clean it ant further was a perfect gl1200 aspencade looking like brand new condition.I was blown away at this bike.
Fully loaded with CB and both helmets (even the right sizes) included , every add on known to exist.Perfect chrome with no rust, all repairs documented since new ,always at the same dealer, you name it.
.Ran perfect, and with a bit of air made the 2 hour trip home flawlesly.
This friend is a clean freak, but has been to busy riding it to even dust it off.Finnally last night gave it a good wipe down with wizards mist and shine, and thats all it really needed.I have only seen one other 1200 this nice and it sure as heck wasnt $2000.00.
What a steal,I am a bit jealous, but at the same time glad I refered it to him.He needed this bike in a bad way,and I would have just resold it and made a buck.
The only issue is with the CB reception, and Im certain its just a connection that we will find.
