That looks great! You did a terrific job. I especially like the stripe on the bags. I am trying to decide what to do with mine and your bags have given me a whole new way of looking at them.

Thanks folks , I'm an Old Retired Diesel Mechanic , I'm not a Painter , or and Artist , I have only used an Air Brush 3 or 4 times in my life , and I do my Air Brush Painting with the little kit that comes from Harbor Freight for like $7 for everything. My wife bought my a ( good air brush ) at a yard sale a couple summers ago , I can't do anything with it , and I don't like it at all. I reckon' it's all it what you like . But anyway.... I thank you all for your Help with putting the new timing belts on , and rebuilding the carbs..... and more than I could ever say. This is a great site , Full of Helpful Info... Thank you All.

thats what makes it even better.... thomson1 , andyb and you have done great jobs on these old wings and leading a lot of us to maybe do the same with confidence of outcome ....great work guys im so impressed with the i can do this myself determination :music: :yahoo: :builder: :builder:

Ya...that thing is looking SHARP!!! Nice color combo, and application!! :good:

I've got two Badger air brushes, but rarely use either anymore. I may have to re-consider doing some paint on my 'Wing!
Thanks for sharing your ride!!

I do have a question now that I have about got it ready to ride. Soon as I ride it enough to get the Oil good and hot , I'm gonna drain it and change it .... when I bought the new Timing Belts I also bought a new Oil Filter , but I didn't buy any Oil Yet. I have worked as a Mechanic in 2 different Car Dealerships in the 70's , VW's , and Fiat's ...... and I worked in the Tractor Trailer shop for over 13 years .... as for Myself I Use Castrol 20w50 in all my cars, trucks, Lawn Mower, and it was in the 750 I just traded off for this Goldwing. Do any of you guys use it in your Goldwings ??? or maybe Synthetic Oil ????

I have used synthetic oil in everything I've owned since the mid 70's and I wouldn't change anything I've done in that respect. If you are a Castrol fan use Castrol Syntec I have used that in cars and trucks. I use Amsoil Motorcycle oil in my Goldwing and Kawasaki KLR. :good: :good: :good:

being a farmboy deisil oil was the choice for me .....if it would do its stuff on tractors ment to run full blast around the clock ....i would use it on lesser motors ,cars bikes trucks and what ever .....no science but i could tell it was different and better than oils ment for car and other stuff....and there are many kinds of deisil oils and id usealy went for the best deal of the time i was buying ....one can of oil was expensive seeing how it held 55 gals and the cost was difference could be huge ...but the oil was always better than whats availible cars and such.....i guess i became a creature of habit ...oil for deisil engines is all i use i dont even look at anything else .....

Thanks guys , we have been having some pretty hard Rain and Storms today..... this has been what me and my wife call , a ( Jammy Day ) where you just stay in your Jammys and stay in the house all day , and for US a Jammy Day now and then are Pretty Nice. :smilie_happy: I just thought I'd see what you folks use in your Goldwings. Thanks again.

I am with JoeDrum on this one. Diesel oil. I have used Rotella 5W40 Synthetic and 15W40 dino oil. Works for me. I just changed it a week ago and used a combination of the two. I had been building a gallon with the leftovers of the two over the last couple of years and it seems to be working fine as well.

Yep, there were some nasties passing through the area yesterday. One pop up storm hit Kentucky Lake real hard. We got lucky and did not get hit at all in Berea. Hope the two of you made it through OK.

over the years working at a Truck Stop Garage , I have pumped many many gallons of Rotella T. into trucks ..... and yes, it's good stuff for sure....... my wife used to live all around Frankfort Ky. . . . . . . . . and her X Husband , and 2 of her kids.( Now Grown ) still live up there , she said she has been all through and around Berea Ky. many times. .... but the Storms kinda missed us, we did ok here , but just a few miles away they had a lot of Hail , and High winds. hope everybody is ok...... thank you all for the help and advice.
