Mine is a old style store with guys that speak english and of all things........can actually cross over a part and find an alternative!!

This was the case for me needing a water pump for my van.
The fan clutch requires a special GM tool to un-thread it.
Tom had the wrench alternative and he printed a picture of the serpentine belt routing.
Very cool.
They even had the better quality hose clamps!

This is what mom and pop shops do to keep you coming back, they go the little bit extra to help ya out.
Unless I have to have something and there's no other choice after hours, I won't be using any of the parts chains any longer.

When I lived in south Dallas county.. I got parts at a family run Napa.... I had a Ford f150 with the straight 6 300 cu in and 4/5 speed tranny.. and the original manifold broke between 1 & 2 ... so I put headers on it.. well the starter was going out in less then 6 months.. and they replaced it without complaint every time...

We have one about 15 minutes up the road

Yep!..We have Eds Auto parts here, Been going there since Ed the father ran it ,now his sons run it and they all understand parts and cars, there are no moonlighters working there...He can match any part price and usually it is a better quality part.

Hmmmm.... :headscratch: are ya'll talking about me again. I started in auto parts back in 79, worked for Auto Parts & supply. The man that trained me was already in his late 60"s, He trained me in ways that i still use today, searching for parts or anything else for that matter, and all we had were books. I miss them days, where you actually could have a conversation with your customer while you were helping them. Now...IT's just slam, bam, and (thank you...sometimes).

Mine is I am sorry to say a NAPA store, but to look at it, you wouldn't know that it is a NAPA store. Autozone and Not-so-Advance Auto are the other two but their service sucks, so I just take may business out the door with me.
