I've got four qts of castrol synthetic I bought for my vstar 1100, Any harm in running that then going back to rotella?

motor has 17k on it. I have a suspicion there is gas in the oil... but not sure so thought I should freshin it up.

I kinda want to use the oil instead of going to buy more - it has been sitting on the shelf for 3 years~!

Running atf in the gas gives it a nice pick up in tesponse as will synthetic oil in the gearbox. If you do both you might not go back to dino oils. I run Mobile1 synthetic in one of my KZs. The only issue I had with it is the valve cover gasket weeps a bit now. If there's a weakness in a gasket synthetic will find a way by.
