No special tools needed, William.
1200's are essentially the same except that with the hydraulic valve adjusters the valve adjusters can't be backed off as easily as the earlier style non hydraulic. Well they can be backed off pretty easily, all it takes is an allen wrench to take the adjusters out.
Just make sure to keep the allen cap and shims and the adjuster marked to go back in the same place.

well if the 1200 is not making any noise as in valves dont do anything but put the belts on ...its a little harder but not enough so to warrant loosening valves on a 1200 that quiet and doing fine

Dan I did not touch the adjusters when I changed my belts on my 1200 are we just talking about just changing the timing belts or more then that.
Det I changed mine no special tool for that on the 1200

The reason I mentioned backing off the adjusters and how they can't be done on the 1200 is only because we recommend backing them off to help avoid bumping a valve head accidently.
I should have explained my train of thought better.
