Aspy has 29,000 miles, runs excellent, new tires, new brakes, new front fork seals, and has very minor paint issues. The original cassette player still works fine!

Gl1500 has 115,000 miles and a broken windshield (bike fell over), but runs and has clear title. Don't have other details on bike condition. Investigate further or forget about it?

What say you?

hmmm two of the best road machines out there ....and very simular in stock form ...for me id have to check out the 1500 tranny while riding it ....also see if i could handle all the extra weight ....1200 fit me better i think but id also have never rode a 1500 ...hmmmm if i had move than one 1200 id go for 1500 i think

Gl1500 has 115,000 miles verses Aspy has 29,000 miles,Naw no brainer to me. We all know age and size dont trump great performance

Great ride no issues low mileage bike for high mileage bike? Nope! If the price was right I might consider buying the 1500 and keep both but no way I'm trading a trouble free low mileage 1200 for a1500 in need with high mileage. Near equal condition I'd consider it.

I'm with the keep the 1200 crowd. It's done, low mileage, no issues, lots of new and refurbished parts, and in great condition. 1500 has issues that require expenditure of funds, and you have no history on it. If it were me I'd be jumping at the 1200 and giving you the 1500, no more funds from my pocket for quite a while.

If you want another project, go for it, but keep the 1200 - not an equal trade. You could also sell the 1200 and pick up a reasonable 1500 that may not require any work.

Sometimes it's better to keep the devil you know. An upgrade can be good on the surface, and hide a lot underneath, sort of like an iceberg.

My thoughts for your consideration.

Cheers

1500 is a great bike, :good: love mine, but the 1200's are much easier to work on. Been called a plumber's nightmare by many to replace the 1500's O'ring's on the cross over pipes, verses the ease of 1200's, by comparison! :hihihi:
