Have GL1100 standard with a Vetter fairing and trunk.

When I turn on a turn signal they flash (great) But I get a low light flash on the opposite side also. So you get a 4-ways look to the lights (not good) This also effects the brake light. The lights on the trunk also do this. BUT the lower bike rear turn signals DO NOT do this.

Put a trailer on and to too flash like 4-ways.

Yes the bike is 32 years old and this set up has been on it almost from day 1. The problem is new. Is it a ground problem? Where are all the grounds?

And my Wing doesnt have 4-ways, and I dont want them.

+1 on grounds.

There are ground wire splices in the main harness, if I remember correctly there is just the one frame screw to ground at the front coil to frame bolt.

To help source (and verify) it is loose grounds causing it, use a jumper wire from ground to one of the bulbs' ground wire.
A matter of finding the bad ground connnection at that point.

No lower lights are stock Honda gold wing rear turn signals. Front and trunk lights are better. But again everything is 32 years old. I have cleaned, checked bulbs and played with many feet of green wire. :). Still hunting for my trouble ground. I hate electrical problems.

Are the wires at the Vetter 9 wire harness clean? If you disconnect the harness and pull the fairing, all of the wires can be checked real easy. (There are only four bolts holding the fairing to the base.)

Had to chuckle with last post. That plug died 10 years ago. Everything is know safe and dry and clean inside. I have the fairing off at least 4 times a year. Every time I do a oil change its 4 bolts per lower, 4 bolts fairing, 2 bolts seat, 4 bolts fake tank. I do not trust just looking at over flow tank I check the radiator. Don't get 32 years and still going strong doing it half ass. :). Its my baby. ;)

It pays dividends to do the job properly and at least you won't end up with a big Rats Nest. :smilie_happy:

Update. Now I dont have turn signals at all. Cleaned tested and checked everything. Plus a new control on handlebar. Flasher for what we see is working. NOW, the turn signals quit working before the new controls, and have realized what a mess Vetter and Honda have. And ideas now. At wits end.
