I have been looking for a goldwing for some time now and found one to buy on the weekend
An 1986 Aspencade in very good shope doesn't appear to have been dropped and bought from the second owner
My first and only bike before this was a 78 suzuki 650 special which I rode about twenty years ago
My 86 has floor boards and heel and toe shifters and brake
I have only rode it the once to bring it home but had a hard time with the a brake I found I had to lift my foot to high and it felt odd
Does anyone use a single lever like if you had pegs

I do have a heel rest but it felt like an odd place for it

I didn't have one, so I made my own and it took a bit of experimenting until I found what worked best for me. The right height and angle makes all the difference.

You should have a small foot rest mounted with the floorboards that you rest your heel on when working the brakes. Should be on the rear of the upper floorboard mount about where the regular pegs mount. Might be missing but it is basically just a long bolt with a rubber cover, easy to fabricate if needed.
You will get used to things after a few thousand miles everything will lock in for ya, It is a different kinda bike.
Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the site from New Jersey! Nice bike!! :clapping:

Floorboards are great for long trips, but I pulled mine and went back to pegs. I still like the pegs better.

Welcome from Ohio, Agree with those who prefer pegs. My 87 came with heel toe shifter, brake, with floor boards front & rear, left rears on. Box with pulled parts, had front & rear pegs in it, replaced the front add on part's, C B radio, went as well. Put in stereo, with C D player, & speakers, that is not used a lot, but nice when you want some traveling music. Enjoy your scooter
