Yup...today wuz not a good un fer me. After lunch, the manager at my shop says, "I gotta let you go...it just ain't working out". Huh? I been there 6 years...he's been there 4 months. Shop owner won't answer his phone. Won't give me my paycheck. :sensored: I tell the moron manager this is a game he ain't gonna win.
So...I load up all I can in the Cad, and come home to get my truck so I can go back and load up my tools. I got a friend with a shop that is letting me park the trailer w/tool box inside for a few days, until I talk to another shop Monday(they called me shortly after I got "let go"). Just to make things ever so much more interesting, in front of my friends shop is a cement pole anchor, that sticks up outta the ground about 3 foot. I run into it while trying to get the trailer backed into the shop. Now the front bumper of the 'Burban is folded up under the truck, fender dented, and who knows what else I messed up. And, just for spits and grins, I get to sit in traffic for an hour on the way home, after all this... :cheeky: :head bang:
I'm gonna go take a nap now. Tomorrow we're going to the Autorama(car show). Maybe that will relax me a bit.... :fiddle:

I've had days like that. They make most of the other day look a whole lot better. I hope you do have another job waiting.

Well...I have an offer. Gotta go talk to the guy Monday...we'll see where that takes me. The place is about 60 miles, tho...not a good deal, unless the $$$ is there. :beg:

What REALLY pisses me off, tho, is I had a place to go, and had already QUIT this job back in October. The shop owner spent ALL DAY(literally) begging me not to go. Made all kinds of promises, yada-yada....gives me a raise, HUGS ME  , and then THIS?! He wants the old crewback...the junkies that wreck all the customer's cars, steals the rims and anything else they can get, and runs the business into the ground ....go figure. Guess I just don't fit the bill...

Thanks guys!

Same thing here, just didn't have as bad a day as you did. After a week I was let go because I don't quite fit the "business model". Without actually "saying it" in so many "words", I wasn't upselling unneeded repairs enough. Apparently I don't have enough of that ********-crack addict-con artist- coyote personality in me. I'm just too one dimensional for that. I guess I'm cursed. :swoon:

It's been a week and my tools are still there.

That really sucks!!. Remember to stay positive! When one door closes.........many more will open up for you.

Reminds me when I was hired to do a dream job, Sell motorcycles, ATV's etc. After I worked out my 2 week notice @ my old job. The sales manager (The one who hired me) was fired & a new one hired. He kept me on.....For a month, In that month (The month of march in Wisconsin) I sold 13 units. Was let go after a month because I didn't have what it took & was let go. Screwed me on earned commissions. In reality I just wasn't one of the BOYS. Who went out drinking with them after work. That dealership is now history. :salute:

Well...I starts my new job Thursday....dangit... :smilie_happy: It's 20 miles farther than I was driving, but that 20 miles is thru the most congested area of Dallas. Imma gonna hafta leave here an hour earlier. :lazy: Oh well...it's a job. I'll take me tools and sech out there Wed. afternoon. I worked at this same location YEARS ago, when it was a different company, so I kinda know my way around the building, and area. It's in the richy part of town, so I might not fit in too well. :smilie_happy:
Wishes me luckys!

Nothing worse than all the non productive time I spend in traffic.
Some days a 20 minute drive will take 2 hours!

All the same its good to have work and these days gotta do what ya gotta do.
