Started tearing into a blown head gasket and other things... :ahem:
Changing belts while your at it?

~O~

Just did that when I put the C5 in... Changing the cams, probably changing the rear case gasket... again :swoon: :head bang: and doing something to make this match the rest of the bike. Not sure about the carbs or carb yet.

Is the 1200 on the road? If so, now is the time to do the carbs on the 1100 since they are off again anyway!

Finally received my membership to the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club along with the necessary paperwork to purchase club/special registration ( limited use) for the Rats Nest. Went to the DMV/ Qld Transport and they informed me that they didn't gave any S plates for motorcycles at their branch and would mail me one from the Gold Coast ( Southport Branch). I should of ridden the 70 miles round trip to pick it up myself as this is what arrived in the mail ( Admittingly the next day)
I then returned to the DMV with said plate and requested another one which the clerk had to check with their supervisor. The supervisor attempted to straighten the bent plate and sent the clerk back to me to assure me that there was nothing wrong with my bent plate. Now as they had charged me $26 for my bent plate I requested a new plate or this one should be supplied at no cost. It is worth noting that if your plate is damaged you have to purchase another one. After much wrangling they eventually decided that I would be sent another plate that should be un damaged but could take between 5-7 days to get to me. The also stated that I should take up my complaints with Australia Post as they bent my plate. I advised the staff that they had contracted with Aus Post to deliver my plates and as such they needed to take it up with themselves.
Here is my next package. It was repackaged in an Aus Post clear bag as they were concerned about the quality of the original package.
Finally a new club/special plate installed on the a Rats Nest
This little exercise reduced my insurance by $70 per annum and costs $110 per annum to register instead of $438.40

Must be 30+ years old. 15km test and tune, trip to mechanic/ body shop and any club events. They have a standard meeting Saturday 7.30am at the Suzuki dealership in Springwood (14 miles away) with good coffees. You could theoretically ride to an event on the other side of the country ( Perth WA) legally on this special rego. You really just can't use it to commute and you need a plan if something goes wrong.

Crikey! My registration is $18.00 US per annum, insurance is $150.00 per for the Aspy and the Shadow, add $25.00 each for penna inpection.

Just received the new sticker in the mail so that means my rego is only for 6mths :(

Just a bit of video riding along behind Graham on his mini bike. He has old socks covering the blue Police lights.

250 mile roundtrip to Baltimore! Great ride! :moped:
Got home from my ride......put my right elbow down on the kitchen table and the whole family heard a SNAP! Seems I snapped part of a ligament on my elbow. Boy does that hurt! (And it is my throttle arm too!!) :crying: :cheeky:

Turns out (and I thank God) I did not tear a ligament! :yahoo:

But, I did damage the nerve that is located below the elbow. When I came back from my ride to Baltimore, my arm was a bit more tired than in the past on much longer rides. Over the winter, I had pulled the handlebars when I installed the new headlight ears/brackets. I must not have put the handlebars exactly where they were before and was reaching while riding putting excess pressure on my right arm (which has had issues in the past, hence the reason I added setback risers to my handlebars in the past). The nerve was already irritated and hitting the table caused it to JUMP around the bony part of the elbow joint (the SNAP we heard) and in the process the outer part of the nerve was irritated/damaged.

Doc says, short course of steroids, ice and time will heal this. :cheeky:
