My last front was a Pirelli which went barely 5k miles.
The last rear (Dunlop E2) went about 8k and was down to the wear bars.

Not much riding for me this year for various reasons so the miles on my last set are still too early to tell but I'm wondering what you all get out of your front and rear tires.

I have Bridgestone tires front and back and they are 2 1/5 years old and have 11,000 miles on them and they look like they are going to go another 8-10k before they need replacement.

I put a new Dunlop E II on the front of mine before I started riding it, 3 years ago. I've got a little over 11,000 miles on it, and it still looks fine. Just put a new rear one on a month ago, so who knows how long it will go. :headscratch:

My first "new" set where E2s and I got about 10,000 on them.
The next set was an E3 on back and an E2 on front and I picked up a nail in the rear at 14,000 so I replaced them with a new pair of E3s.
Back had a plenty left to have finished the year had it not been for the nail and I will rotate the old front to the hack for another year.

That is with about 5,000 with the sidecar and probably 4,000 pulling a trailor if you can believe that.

i got my 1200 back in '07 and it needed tires real bad when i got it. it had 39,5xx miles on it then. i got a dunlop 404 on the rear the following week and three weeks later it was too cold to ride so, not many miles were put on before being put away for winter. when spring came i asked on the 1200 forum which tires to get and they recomended e3's. with less than 40,000 miles i put e3's on my 1200 and now at 51,212 the tires look good, almost as good as the new e3 on the front of my 1500 wing. the e3's on the 1200 have never been noisy like the e3's on the 1500 though

i must absolutly be horrible on tyres i guess :smilie_happy: :Doh2:  i actualy think i ride pretty conservatively im diffenutly not a limit pusher or corner carver .....i must be doing somthing wrong :whistling: :headscratch:  thats my story and im sticking to it

Me too Joe!

I watch air pressure closely and just ride it.
Maybe that Pirelli I had was just a bad tire.
After getting such low miles out of it I expected it should have better grip than it did.
I could feel it slip in the twisties even when it still had 1/2 tread left. The new E3 in front is much better.

i use to ride the 1500 wing realy hard until i blew the left shock. being short on cash at hte time i went on ebay and got a used shock for now and slowed my corner carving down. on 1500 wings the left shock is a conventional shock like on a 1000 wing and the right is an air shock. i'll get a new convebtional progressive shock and tire before spring and though my 1500 had e3's on it i don't know how many miles wee put on them before i got it. oh and the milage i stated on my 1200 is wrong it should have been 42,xxx when i got the bike, the 1500 had 39,3xx when i got it and the front tire was replaced at 50,026

not much i strive to get 4000 miles on tires ...front or back :nea:

Is the mileage so low due to rural roads Joe? I'm pretty sure your not the donut burnout kind of guy.

It seems like mileage varies wildly. :? My old girl is a daily commuter, and I almost got murdered by the wife over the 404s(cost/labor). :Doh2: I hope I get better mileage. :beg:

~O~

I was just talking to my buddy who has an GL 1800 and on a recent run he was on a buddy had an 1800 with Dunlop E3's and only about 4800 miles on them and the right side of the rear tire opened up and the radials broke through. Luckily, the tire did not blow. Are the Dunlop tires made in China by chance?
