I have a factory hole with a black rubber plug on top my front fender about in line with the fork tubes.
Anyone know what that was for?

I have a parts manual on disc, and looked it up one time, because I was also curious....the manual showed a plug for that hole, and it was listed as...I'm not joking, "Plug for Useless Hole"...
In the parts manual here, it doesn't say what it is, other than "Plug". I've always assumed it was for a fork brace.
#4 in the diagram....

Rember the "pedestrian slicer" front fender number plates for the home market british bikes? Maybe the hole is there for something like that.
