Lately I've noticed a lot of lateral movement in the fairing... I had lost 2 of the 4 bolts under the fairing where the forks disappear under the fairing. The 3rd and 4th were loose as well. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it, when was the last time you checked yours?

It is an interesting observation that the Honda fairings seem to have these issues. I have read other posts about consistent cracks and bolts coming loose on them.

Just an added note, my Vetter fairing is 29 years old, spent more than 90% of it's life out in the weather and has logged some 48K miles on it and it has held up very well. No cracks, paint shined right up when waxed (better than the bike did, I had to repaint the bike) and performs well at preventing wind buffeting for me! 4 easy access bolts on it's frame, 1 quick connect wire harness and it is off in 10 minutes. Craig Vetter did some real good engineering!

I've had a couple of the lower bolts on mine missing since I bought it 3 years ago. My fairing does it's fair share of shaking, too. I just been waiting for the proper looking bolts to fall in my lap to install them. So far...that hasn't happened. Dang...I may have to actually LOOK for some.... :Awe:

I just had my fairing off last month and as some of you have found some lose bolts. I needed to replace the tach cable and some instrument lights. I installed new self locking nuts on mine. I also found that whoever removed it previously didn’t put lock washers back on. Speaking of lock washers, they should never be reused from what I have been taught, of course that was from a fastener supply person.
