on my 82 1100 motor there s a wire coming from the bottom of the cylinders on the right side of the mortor when sitting on bike ...that looks to be coming out of the front cover up high on it ....a red banded wire ...dose any body know what this wire is and where it hooks up .....

this looks to be the only thing that not going to be able to hook up on the 1200 motor in the 82 ....im going to get every thig else hooked up ...

on the 84 1200 motor there is a cluster of wires that come from the same spot ....i might be able to hook to one of those if i knew witch one to use

thanks in advance if some can tell me what the wire is

thanks V i got power to everything else it seems ....

found a longer starter cablble i think....for the 1200 starter being longer....

statoe wires tepm hook up .....

need to put on radiator also

attach thrittle cables to 1200 carb rack ....

fasten intake horns to heads after cable hook up ....

and hook up temporary gas tank to carb rack and hope for the best .....and try

yes the 1200 has been "upgraded" to the 1100 ignition too. So wiring is simplified some. Looks to be a great build so far.

as it sits greybeard its been test running ,,,and all is looking good so far ...i stil have to hook up hydrualic clutch and vacume fuel pump ive been givin to try....but working on the building is most pressing at the moment ....but it is cool i cant wait ti try it out

i would have thought the 1200 ignition would have been better then the 1100. how is the 1100 an upgrade?

1100 ignition has both a vacuum advance and mechanical advance. And also has the advantage of connecting to the 82 wiring. So it is considered an upgrade. In all actuality I doubt either ignition has advantage over the other.
