Shifter shaft support, and seal.

So, my shifter shaft seal is leaking, again. I'm thinking I replaced that seal once before, but not really sure. anywho, I got two new seals(a spare is handy), and I ordered one of those extra "support" thingys for the shifter, which is a genuine masterpiece of Honda engineering.

Seals arrive yesterday, the support should be here by Monday, then I'll rip into the teardown, and installation of both. Not sure how the support is going to work with the Markland floorboards, but....I has a grinder, hammer, and prybars, so.....

That looks like more an extension than a support, but words trip me up sometimes

I’ll be watching too, that does look like a form of extension. I took my floorboards off if anyone wants them cheap.

It is a support. The way the shifter arm is on the 1500 is goofy as f. The shaft comes out of the case, then it has a secondary lever attached that goes back a couple of inches, then out, where the shift footpeg attaches. The way it is, when the shifter is moved up/down, it pulls up/down on the actual shaft, wearing the case/bushing. This is why they all leak(eventually). This type of support adds support to the secondary shaft so it will not push up/down on the main shift shaft as it comes out of the engine case.
