Just like a cattle buyer, he asks for a dollar he hopes he will get seventy five cents and all he really needs is fifty cents to break even.

I talked to that guy. He said a guy was coming tomorrow to look at the bike. LOL It's been on the list for over a month now. Low miles and he's had it about 7 years. Said he bought a Harley and has not been riding it for years now. The carbs sound like early model 48A's because he had some guy "rebuild" them for $400 and there was according to him "some jet that he had to take a some jeweler's tool to get to" :mischief: I offered him $200 bucks for the set ... lol He went "I got 500 in them" :hihihi: :hihihi:

I'd be willing to bet the carbs on the bike need at least cleaning and I know the set he had "rebuilt" would have to be taken apart and checked before I would put them on anything I own. He said all the parts used to rebuild the carbs were original Honda parts.

It's the "Greater fool" theory at work............. :Egyptian: :Egyptian:

Well I am glad I didn't waste my time with that bike then. I was going to him if the one I bought didn't work out.

Oh, the Bike seems nice and the miles are low unless it's actually tripped the 100 K once already. I forgot to ask him where the trunk was that was missing in the photo ... that's a couple hundred off the price right off. I'd have to ride it and do a compression check to even make an offer though. You have to figure $300-$400 spent on any unknown bike, at least that's about what I spend. Carbs, Timing belt, fluids and that's just the basics for a nearly perfect bike. I didn't go look at it as he didn't want to budge on any price ... SSSN ... Some Will, Some Won't. So What ....NEXT.

Said it had been parked for several years so figure on tires being worthless out here in the heat. Now we're up to 7-800 to spent just to be safe and reliable, so there ya go. How much is it worth when you finish and you have an offer. Never talked to an owner yet that didn't hold his vehicle in very high regard and value. Usually in the mind the value is much overpriced from what it's actually worth. :hihihi: Shoot, I'm no different but mine are all paid for and they aren't eating anything so ..............
