Here's a video of this pump leaking.
Waiting to hear back if he wants the pump returned, if not I'll open it to see what happened.

Shame, such a good price. Maybe it's an isolated defect.

Yeah that's kinda serious. Could taking it apart have damaged it?

~O~
I never took it apart.

Curious, what gave you the idea I did :headscratch:

This pump arrived and I checked it out.
Of course I had to open the back cap to see how it works

It was this line further back in the thread. I must have misunderstood.

~O~

It looks like the crimping is not sufficient to hold the seal tightly, rather than pull it apart I would try and figure out how to crimp it together more

It seems other have had trouble with his fuel pumps(see feedback). Probably in the o'rings they use in china, shame because the motor itself may be fine but part rendered useless because of a cheap o'ring.

I opened it up.
The tabs holding it together bend way too easy. Weak metal used.
I'd guess just pulling a tight fitting hose off would be enough to pull it apart and cause a leak.
It did work fine for awhile, untouched by me it started leaking.

The rubber seals are very thin but still look good.

Seeing where you mounted it I wonder if engine vibrations would have caused it, not that you have a choice but if they are building these as an automotive fuel pump would be built, mounted on a firewall or wheel well..Not that it is any excuse but I know how they think over there, it is all production and no care as to what it is used for.

click their feedback score(numbers)
Also once your on the feedback page put your cursor over the negative or neutral numbers and click to see only those feedbacks.

I nominate zman to do a how-to on how to use eBay. The z must be for zen. (I joke but mean it in a good way, Jeff)

With Jeff's posting of all the good GW ebay finds you almost don't have to use it anymore! :smilie_happy:

So true.
Just put in an order with Jeff what is needed :clapping:

I bought one of those cheap pumps......looking at when it came scared me so much I won't use it. I bought a new genuine Honda pump...https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-New-Fuel- ... c0&vxp=mtr
Cost more but I don't care, fuel pump has to work and not leak.
I will put the new one on, I pickled the old one (still works) with a little ATF. I'll put it in my carry onboard spares/tools
