I recently experienced a faulty air shock on the right side of my 1980 gl1100. I decided to purchase the progressive 4124222c pair of rear shocks instead of the air ride. I am having difficulty mounting them up. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, but the shock just seems about 1/2" too long. Is there some kind of trick in mounting these up that I am not doing. I included a picture of the problem area. Any help would be great as the manufacturer is not open until Monday. Thanks, Chuck

If you get the bike up and pull both shocks it should not be a problem.
Exactly.. I had assumed you were on the center stand but if your not put it up on it or if no stand you need to put the chassis up and let the swing arm drop to the proper height.
The shocks ar fine though..just need some persuasion.

had a look at this and could be a typo i suppose but the shocks for 1100 & 1200 both showed a 13" inch length, even with diff part #s

somethings not right there cos the 1200 shocks are ~ 14.25"

1200 shocks work but are tight to bolt up to an 1100 that then would also sit higher
