My Transmission or clutch growls if I lug it where is the noise coming from? I have had other 1100's and they did the same. Jay/b

Growling while lugging the engine is most likely the primary chain. This engine absolutely do not like to be lugged, (and it is not a good idea to lug because that can lead to detonation.)
Just give it a bit more throttle on take off, or drop to a lower gear if riding.

My 80 does the same thing when I'm taking off from a dead stop, I just have to give it more RPM,s.
