Does anyone know the exact size of the grips on this bike? I currently don't have the bike with me and I'd like to pick up new grips before I pick my bike up. The current foam grips are so old the are crumbling in my hand, and I'd like to replace them with something chrome and more appealing. I thought for sure I would find the answer with a quick search, but couldn't seem to find it. Are these bars on the 1981 gl1100 7/8th? And how long are the stock grips?
Thanks for helping a young guy new to goldwings.

Pretty much all metric bikes have 7/8" bars. So just about any grips in that size will fit. Plenty of choices on ebay and reseller sites.

I have a handle bar set here with 5" long grips which leaves about a 1" gap from the controls.
The grips on my runner are 6" with just a small gap.
Either will work but the 6" look better to me.

They are 7/8 clutch side and 1 on the throttle side.. but are called a set... so don't worry there, if you grab the throttle side you may think they are too big if you put it on the clutch side... damhik.....lol......and 150 are correct.. I put shorter ones on mine and big gap... they make a chrome and leather set for about $28 I have seen. Look the same as the foam but shouldn't flake like the foam..
