Got a puzzle that I could use a lil insight with. My 1100 feels like its bogging down under 1/2 to WOT, and also sounds like its sputtering thru the exhaust. Slowing down on the interstate, it is also popping thru the exhaust. Could this be a carb sync issue? Any other things cause a problem like this? Any advise is welcome.

Automatic transmission fluid? Really? I'd never have thought to try that. What about that product called Seafoam? Would it do any good? Also, how prone are the plug wires and coils to fouling out, and where can I get good quality replacements?

plug wires and end caps arte one of the weaker things on a thrity yr old bike ...they could be original......last time i bought ngk ends ie seemed like they were under five dollars a piece wires i domt know where to tell you to get them ....oh jim here on the forum had some for sale to members that had ends and wires i think he has a set or two left not sure ....there a thread here somewhere on it ....yes seafoam works but ATF IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO ALWAYS and sould IMHO :mrgreen:use wd40 on the twin rubber boots to get them to giv up the ends easy

yes it would ...and it probably is fuel starve ....and it would be great if it was just clofed filter .....and you sould look in the tank to see if its rusty another weak spot on old bikes of anykind ....right now im cleaning the tank on a 77 oldwing that hadnt ran in twenty yrs but is running now from a temperary gas tank i use to get motors going ....now im seriouly cleaning the fuel system up before switching to the bike tank ......its most likely the carbs though rust has a way of getting through gas filters ....you can take the fuel line off the fuel pump to the carbs and see if it pump fuel to eliminate the filter ....but if this is new to you you sould change all this stuff anyway to bring these weak spots up on such a old bike and get them out of the way and to to new bike statis ......that line to the carbs is pretty hard to change with the carbs on dont try that it seldom the problem ....the gas tank is a huge problem that needs to be fix though if its rusty.....ATF always in a bike of unknown condition

Definitely not a synch issue. Might be a vac leak or ignition issue or junk in the high speed jets.

Sounds fuel starved to me.
Try replacing the filter first and when you get the old one out, blow through it in reverse and see what comes out.

All are good things to check but I gotta agree with Dan on this one , then the plugs and air filter :hi:
