First off i know i need a picture, and if i get removed , it's ok.

I found a local bike for parts 81-82 interstate, i have not bought it yet.
Engine no good, complete with the exception of a starter.
I want the carbs for parts, some other small parts for my 83.

What i want to know is if i can sell enough parts at low pricing to break even on 300.00
If there is something you are looking for post what you want and are willing to give for said part.
I am not looking to make money on this.
What goes around comes around kinda thing.

Bike is what i would call rough, i will go take pics to post this weekend.
PM, post, or call

With just the carbs and small parts you'll make up the $300, especially easy if the carbs are in bolt on and run condition. I might be interested in the complete brake system if it's all in good working order so I'm putting my name in first on those.

check out the prices on ebay. If you part it out at half those prices you should make your money back + bit.

G George make a list like I did on selling the pullies it allows everyone to see what you have and how much you want for it....Here's an example Ok...You don't have to do this I'm just suggesting it looks good and it is effective...And tell how you want payment...
1. Brake system , front and rear brakes [Dan filipi] $price
2. False Tank the next guy$
3. Pulse Generator $
4. Handlebars $
5. Front Wheel $ You should get your parts sold with ease...

Boy, I can't help that feeling that of being a Jackel feasting on some prey.....but, are both battery covers good? (No cracks and all three posts on each?) (Dibs at least on the left side)

And are the mirrors good? (Dibs)

(Quick edit!)

Rear rotor? (Dan called the brakes, but does the rear rotor fall into that dib? :smilie_happy: )

This is gonna sound dumb...the clutch cable boot at the handle?

Nothing is dumb when someone is parting it out, I wish I was there to help him strip it down just for the fun of it....Crap, I can't think of anything I really need..I sure hope you have a lot of boxes fella..You will exceed $300 with no problem...The fairing alone is going to take a chunk out of that I bet...Mine was worse than that when I got it....

Boy, looks to be in fairly decent condition.
Sure you don't want to restore it instead?

What's wrong with the motor?
I ask because a lot of guys not knowing will condemn a motor with a good bottom end when they hear noise from unbalanced carbs, maybe a failed rebelt job and bent a valve when in fact some simple repairs are all it needs. I see the left head cover is off, PO was looking for something. Even a frozen motor will come back to life most times.

No title so its just parts to me........did you want the brakes??
both saddle bags are locked, no key. Anyone know how to unlock without destroying the parts??

I am keeping the carbs and short block, radiator, rear shocks and some bolts.
Everything other than that is up for grabs. fork inside tubes are marked from bad bushing outers look good.

I guess that did not sound to good , "no title" but i did buy it at a motorcycle repair shop with bill of sale. George

Yes.
What I need is everything that is different than the 83, (83 having linked brakes) so I can unlink mine.
I'm not sure what all that is I need.

What I DO know is:

Rear master cylinder
Hard line from the rear MC to rear caliper
Front hydraulic line coupling
I think I don't need the front calipers (will 83 hook up to 81 stuff?)
I probably need the rubber lines also. Anyone who knows what I'll need for the conversion care to jump in here?

Got any idea if the speedo works? I sure need one, if it ain't too expensive.... :whistling:

The bike is currently being disassembled and i have gotten as far as included photo.
Many of the parts are spoken for, ( although some have not confirmed ) so i cannot sell you the whole thing.
