I thought 1983 was the 1st year with a digital speedometer & gauges. I had my fill of those from all the early 80's cars that went bad.

I checked the fiche and 83 was the first year for the digital dash.

Two possibilities:

model year is wrong.

83 display mounted on 82 bike (if possible)

I agree on the wrong year and don't know if you can mount on a 82

When did they stop using Comstar rims? That one has cast aluminum.

1983...definitely. Can't believe I missed that one as well!
And why does the advertiser call RED "80's brown"???? Red is Red, regardless of the decade, lol!

My '81 is maroon/red, but unless you look REAL close, it looks for all the world to be chocolate brown.

That is the color of my 82 Silverwing as well, especially where the paint has sun faded in places. And this 83 is a fairly nice bike having the factory radio and luggage, and full-cast ally wheels. Might be better to get the wheels and put on an '82 than to risk depending on the digital gauges, which are harder for me to see in direct sunlight as well.
