I'm sure this was expensive. Hope you didn't get charged for the 2 getting in the way.

haha. well, the tow truck and campground fees , until we were on our way again, was covered by
the RACV.. ( roadside assist ) best couple of hundred i ever spent... :Egyptian:
it turned out that the two boneheads were just escaping the roadhouse for a while.

so, pulled the bent axle out , loaded it into the bus and we set off the next morning for
Alice Springs,, some 300 KLMs north. the nearest town of any size. after watching an amazing
sunrise, away we went....

the landscape changed a little as we got further north, but it was long way to go, for some parts

03.jpg

had a couple of small issues as we went... radiator cap decided to spring a leak :heat: :heat:
and the headlight switch ( i drive with headlights on ) also overheated and started to let the
magic smoke out..... after a bit of stress and worry we finally got to Alice Springs...
3.jpg

then, its charging all over town to the trailer place, the motor wrecker and the tyre joint. a
trip to the supermarket and bottle shop and we were done. got the bus loaded up..
ended up buying a new axle, two new hubs , bearings, a wheel rim and two new tyres.
4.jpg

then it was time for a selfie at the Alice Springs sign , (you might be able to tell i was in no mood
for picture taking nonsense....)
5.jpg

and then, the return trip to Kulgera Roadhouse. got a bit bored and took plenty of pics..

finally, after a bit of work and not too many problems, got her rolling again...

Wow that road is so strait and narrow ...I’m not sure I could travel it without wrecking ...rather hard task to maintain in life ..LOL

well, try 5 days of it Joe.... and we only made it to Alice Springs.... :good: :good:

actually, on the way to Western Australia ( from Port Augusta to Perth ) there is a gun barrel
straight stretch of road, that is 140 KLMs long. thats 90 miles in your language. dead straight.
