I didn't have much to do today, so I decided to play around with a spare tensioner. I notice it wasn't turning smooth so I decided to experiment. First, I drill a hole from the back with a 9/64 bit all the way to the cap, but don't go true, then I drill a 13/64 hole just part way so I can get a few treads with a 1/4 '' tap. I made myself a fitting with a zert ( see picture ) and a bicycle part. I screwd the fitting on the back of the wheel and pump some greese, now the wheel turns like new. To finish I cap it with a taper screw. I didn't try it on a bike, but I did spin it on my buffer and it spins nice. I took an old one apart to see what there was inside, did you know, there is only a few bearings in there and not much greese, no wonder they don't last. Maybe a waste of time, but I had fun doing it :Egyptian:
