Lusted after one in '73, got my first one in 2009. They are nice to work on ( no bodywork) but I prefer to pull the engine to set the valves so I don't have work at a funny angle through that little hole in the valve cover.
Still have one more to refurbish (a '78k), been saving a new old stock gas tank that I bought for a good deal on ebay years ago. I do like the carbs...easy if you leave them stock.

Except they really did work on my wrist and fingers after an hour or more of riding!

You are so right about that! I had to find a lighter spring for them
 
Also, this one in the video has the 4 cables, so I don't think there was any way to reduce the pull load like later ones with a linkage, master spring, and single pull/push cable system.
