Hey all. Quick question is the dash clock supposed to be on all the time?

I have an '81 Interstate and mine is. It would drain the battery if I didn't ride for a couple of weeks. I ended up putting a toggle switch to it to turn it off if I knew I wouldn't be riding for a bit. Problem solved.

Exactly my problem and that's what I'm planning on doing

Not yet...had some foot surgery done and just hanging out now.

The clock on my 81 GL1100 is digital led, and only displays for a few seconds when I push the button on the radio panel. I don't detect any draw on my battery when the key off. Are you referring to an analog clock? I have one of those in the dash of my 82 GL1100, but I think it is dead, lol!
