I lived on Looong Island from 1991 to 2000.

I'm a bit north of Looong (lol) Island. If you go north, Colton, NY is about 40 minutes from the Canadian Border @ Cornwall.

There really isn't a lot up this way and we've already had three hard frosts.
The places you've been are really the more popular scenic places for sure!

Nice bike. I like the paint scheme. Spent a looooong HOT summer ~1973 in Saratoga/Balston Spa while doing my Navy Nuc prototype training. Had my first bike - a '70 TR6C Triumph chopper - built in Saratoga.

There's a ton of combinations that look good on these oldwings. I like what you've done with your GL1000 'project'- '78 with '75 motor. I've toyed with the idea of straight pipes like yours but didn't know how it would sound. I've been to Balston Spa once (Curtis Lumber Car Show) and it was hotter than hot that day!!! :heat:

I ended up with Emgo shorty slash-cuts on it. Still louder than I'd like, but others have complemented me on its bark. I guess the GL1800 has me spoiled

That's some good riding up there. I went to Paul Smith's for a while, and lived in Saranac Lake for a summer. Got my first taste of real riding on the Wilmington notch road on a GT380 cafe in '76!
