I hit a deer in September, On my 84 Honda Magna in the middle of nowhere. It was totaled but she had enough left in her to bring me home so I could get some help. Lucky for me I was wearing all of my gear that day and recieved only minor injurys to my left knee. I was in the hospital almost 2 weeks, and off work for 2 1/2 months. I was certain at that time that I would never get on another bike again. Mainly because of how lucky I was just to be alive. The outer parts of my jacket and pants were just ripped to shreds, and the only piant left on my helmet was on top and down near my neck. But some how only my knee was injured. Over the past two weeks I was putting the 81 GL1100 together so that I could sell it, But I am having a change of heart now. All the dreams and plans I had for it are coming back to me, and I just don't know if I can sell it now.

Glad you weren't injured any worse!! Bikes can be fixed/replaced....YOU, on the other hand, are a different story. Hope you and the 'Wing have a full recovery! :eek:k:

I have had several BAD bike wrecks over all these years , but ... if we was afraid of everything that MIGHT happen , we might as well be in a Bomb Shelter 24-7 ... not much fun. my worst wreck yet was July 6th 1974 ,
Broke so many bones I won't even go there ... took me 6 months to Tie my own shoes . I was trying to think of the only place I wasn't Hurt..... but , I don't think there was a place like that. but , soon as I was able , I was back on..... ( different Bke ) BUT.......riding again. . . . whatever is ment to be WILL Be . I think life is kinda like the Movie , ( the Time Mechine ) if it's your time ... it will happen... one way or the other . . . . back in the Hippy days 1969 ... the hippys had a saying, Ony 2 rules man ... 1st rule , Never sweat the small stuff , 2nd. rule , EVERYTHING is Small Stuff . . . Rock On :music:

well im not here to be protective bubble and then die ....im here to live the life the lord wants me to live and it has no fear in it at all...
Amen Brother.
I've had 3 wrecks in 35 years. One was a deer with my 1500 SE. I'm still riding. We all know what the risks are. God keeps us here for a reason.
I would suggest not selling your 1100. Unless your absolutly sure thats what you want to do. You may regret it later.
I sold my baby 16 years ago & am lucky to have her back.

Agreed. I've always believed that when God calls you home, it doesn't matter what you are doing. You can drown on a very minute quantity of water in your lungs and yet, we take baths and swim and do all kinds of foolish things that risk drowning.

Thanks everyone, I am glad to hear that others have gotten back on after bad accidents. Almost everyone here at home thinks I'am crazy for thinking about it. But like a few of you said I don't want to live in a bubble, then leave this world wishing I had done this or that.

If your confidence is shaken some. It wouldn't hurt to take the MSF course. You might learn something new in the process. So glad you weren't hurt badly. Sorry ya lost the Magna.
