Or you could just sing louder while you ride. :music3:
====================
Many, many years ago as a teenager I visited my grandfather in Arkansas, who ran a one-man mechanic’s shop where he repaired outboard, small, and auto engines, and he showed me how to use a “sounding stick” [for lack of a better term] like a stethoscope to locate errant engine sounds/problems. I thought he was kinda crazy at first when he put that dowel-like stick to his ear, but he demonstrated that he was able to isolate engine sounds from the overall clattering and background noise of the engine compartment. I was very impressed, and still am by his simple but effective resourcefulness.
So yeah, I think a "sounding hose" could work, but I doubt that I am skilled enough to ride, listen, diagnosis, and stay upright [ let alone in my driving lane! ] while undertaking the procedure. Great idea though, securing one end of the hose to my ear . . . especially when considering that it would be yet another excellent use for my blue painter’s tape!!
You would also be correct in that “my singing” would solve the problem, as my off-key, out of synch, variable rhythm would probably serve very effectively as a human noise-cancellation device. ;-}
