Dan...there's something about your tube deal that has always bugged me.....it's completely open at the top. Ain't you askeered of something getting up in there?
What size tubing is that? I can send you a kewl little vent to stick in the end of the tubing that will keep debris/bugs out of it, but still allow it to breath properly....and you could do away with the l little loop at the top...
Just sayin....

I cut off a dip stick tube and put a clear hose on it. This way I can see the level at a glance.
It seems to be accurate enough.
Ok, I knew you weren't right Dan, but this confirms it....That's crazy smart man...Good one, tell me that you thought of it please.. :clapping: I have a dip stick but I didn't do that, what lower fairing.?, I never had one..what's it look like..Geee I didn't know of it.. You guy's are flippen funny...
Only thing I wanted to add about cutting the tube is to cut it just below the full level at the dipstick. Couldn't tell by the picture. Thought it might be a good idea.

I never had a concern for anything other than water getting, that's why the loop is in it but yeah, a vent cap thing would be cool.

You drive in rain enough, and water will find it's way down that hose. May not be much, but it will accumulate over time. Not to mention just normal roadway dust/funk.

I like the twister there...cool stuff ...there's a problem with it and maybe you can fix it like we all fix our bikes, if you're gonna put a twister on there like that you should make for darn sure it's spinning in the correct direction, ok :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: that's wrong it spins counterclockwise.. :smilie_happy: pretty cool though..Just funning ya...it's true, is that Joe drum in it?

Could be a twister from Australia :Doh2:

Depends on your point of vision....

Look at the spinning woman and if she is turning right your right side of your brain is working. If she is turning left your left side of your brain is working ....

If she turns both ways for you then you have a 160 or better IQ.

She goes both ways for me.... :whistling:

Now, back to our regularly scheduled thread....

What's a IQ... :smilie_happy: She sure is pretty though..Are you guy's saying Australia is backwards... :smilie_happy: Interesting how in the Northern Hemisphere they spin counter clockwise and in the southern hemisphere they spin clockwise, I do believe Australia is in the southern.. Am I right..so maybe his twister is from the Southern hemisphere...  Ohhhh..

While watching it her spin, I thought it would have been nice if she weren't a silhouette. I guess it wasn't my brain I was thinking with :hihihi:

I don't like the oil level window on my 81 either. It is hard to tell the oil level from the built in squeegee, plus it must not be sealed very well because is gets a film of oil on it, which i have to wipe off first (I keep Qtips in the tool kit for this). My wing doesn't use a drop of oil and definitely does not leak so I have't had to check it a lot, however it would be nice to have an easier way to check the level. A dipstick might be the way to go.

Mine seeps oil around the glass, too. :sensored: I have to use a long, flat bladed screwdriver(with a rag on the end) to clean the dang thing off first, then twist the wiper, and check the level. What a pita....

Only problem I have with my dipstick is the point at which you drain the oil. Its a smaller drain plug now and the oil doesn't quite come out as fast. Not a big issue though. Just getting the oil hot helps with the draining and you should do that anyway.
