i have a after market dipstick on my 75 gl1000 want to know if it will work on a 82 gl1100 want to keep from looking through that stupid window

I'm not absolutely positive but since the engine drain plugs are the same size and the engines so similar, I would say yes.
It could possibly involve some creative thinking and alteration to the dipstick tube support bracketry.

I removed my dip stick. It worked fine on my 83, problem is when changing oil the oil won't drain completely and for me the entire thing just didn't look right, so I"m back to the sight glass.
