Sounds like the switch is wired to power. It should not be. Power goes to the fan always then the fan is grounded by the sending unit. it's only when I try to run the radiator fan auxiliary switch. I'm going to unplug all that stuff and let it run like it ran before - when the sending unit fails will he the time to hook the switch up again.
timing belts look good when the engine is hot so I'm just closing everything up now
