Hey there, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the thread pitch for the starter bolts?
Someone used some junk bolts they had lying around to mount up the starter (one has a circular spacer from a powersports battery on it) :headscratch:
I was gonna grab some from honda but they are 2weeks out.

Honda guy said 6mm x 20mm with 8mm head. but no clue on thread pitch
Any ideas? thanks so much

Take any other 10mm headed bolt on the engine off, and check the pitch on it....they are all the same, as far as I remember on mine. My starter originally had only one bolt on it, but I just found another bolt the same size in my toolbox and it threaded right in. Pretty sure they are both 10mm heads, tho. :good:

Careful with that specific parts fiche. I clicked for parts for my '82 standard and the fiche shows parts (like brake calipers) that are '80 and '81 only but show up in the '82 fiche. If you do not know any better, you could end up ordering the wrong parts.

Here's what Partzilla says.

BOLT, FLANGE (6X28)
96000-06028-02

And I know for a fact it is a 1.00 thread pitch with a 10mm head (Flanged).

You'll get them in Ace hardware for about 25c a piece.
