Dropping cylinders; probable cause

Decided to dive in. Carbs off and bowls out. Number two looks like it hasn’t had gas in years. Now looking into kits. I have a sonic cleaner so getting all the hard parts clean is easy. Debating splitting everything or just good clean with new o- rings, float needles….advice sought. I hate to spend money on floats and needles and emulsion tubes that I don’t need. overwhelmed by the price range and variation and all these kits.

Do it right and do it once. Never use aftermarket jets or float valve assemblies. The 1100 float valves usually clean up well if they are OEM. I rarely have to replace them. If you do though use OEM. You should remove the idle jet and clean it properly. It is pressed in but can be removed. There is a tutorial on Randakks site.
