14 amp? That'd be like moving the original stator to the outside in my opinion.

might be good thing ... I always hated to change the dam things on the kabota tractors it was like a cruel joke as they just burned up buried in all that heat ..like they were ..mounted out they might be okay....

+1 Not my favourite way of charging, definitely more suited to a diesel tractor without too many accessories. If you are going to all that trouble a simple 50amp+ air cooled alternator would be my choice rather than a sealed unit like these.
 
I have seen those many times on trailer mounted generators and small diesel equipment. I have had to replace a few. They would not be well suited to the very high RPM seen by our bikes. These are meant to be attached to an engine that runs at 1800 RPM all day long, not blasts of 6K plus. 70MPH on the freeway would kill one on short order.
