I hope so, also seller has them for the 1000 and 1200`s too. wonder if factory switches are set the same between the 1000 to 1200 models?

Good question! :good: I would have guessed they all were the same, sort of like the water pumps. :headscratch:

I like Caltric as a supplier Jeff so I expect these switches should be reasonable quality

Thanks Tony, good to know.

Anyone know how to test a switch off the bike? Would attaching it to a voltmeter should it read on or off when the switch inside works? I would have thought on read continuous circuit?

As a matter of fact, we have a video on how to test it:

I got one for my 1000 at Rock Auto Parts.

Was under $15. It's actually for a Honda Civic.

Amazing isn't it that so hard to get parts are used on Honda Car? typical, go to Honda I have a GL1000 and they all fall about laughing but according to Honda they don't make them anymore. Case of left hand doesn't know right hand is scratching bum as no brain to connect them.

The GL1000 motor was based on a old Honda car motor.

Guys beware buying this part, part they sent was a 16MM thread the (my) gl1100 has a 18MM thread, says they have a 20% restock fee unless it is their fault, I think it is their fault but probably gonna get burned.
Are there different thread sizes on Goldwings? you say a Honda car type fits but I tried one of those and same deal..threads too small, it had a 16MM thread and would not fit.

you may be able to find a suitable reducer to fit the switch. IMHO the seller should be providing those with the sale if he is saying it fits the goldwing motors.

No reducer necessary.

This part from Rock Auto fits the 78 GL1000 perfectly and I believ all years 75-79 at least are the same: https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=488724
