I saw that the maximum speed on the meter is 120 Kph speed (80 mph) and other indicator shows 200 kph
The book says 200 mph
What is right?

Depends on how well you have it tuned both ignition and carburetors and of course suspension. Then how fast do you dare go?

your 1980 oldwing should have great acceleration ... with its gearing ......80mph speedo was a stupid gov regulation thing .....that covered three yrs of production ... i guess the fools thought if you cant see how fast your going you wouldnt go there ... it also came out at the same time 55mph was the top speed limit then .....so the gearing on your bike was rather low compared to other yrs ..so this is how a speedo get put on that has nothing to do with the bike at all ... its about idiot in control ... much like today with all the dumb so call leaders

Either way your top speed will be regulated by lift in the front end so don't push the bike. I have never had mine higher then 70 but I have read articles and post by those who dare that the faring causes lift and becomes unstable at speeds as low as 90 depending on head wind.

Friends
Thank you for the responses, my intent of course is 200 Kilometers per hour and not miles per hour!
Anyway my bike is going to be naked without fringe.
Another question: Can I install the GL1000 speedometer? It is compatible?

I had a maximum speed of 105mph show up in my GPSs history after riding around Julian Ca on my last ride with my brother Kim. I do know that when we were travelling at maximum speed down the western side of the Black Hills to Newcastle Wyoming that after awhile pulling around 7000 rpm the Rats Nest was starting to get hot even though it was 7.30- 8pm so I had to back off to 6000rpm..

Thank
Is there some names of affordable parts websites that I can contact them and will agree to send out of America?

eBay is normally the easiest. Western Honda in Flagstaff Az will also ship overseas but you need to call them to finalise the shipping costs

My 80 naked 1100 will go at least a zillion mph. With the low gearing the sweet spot is really the mid range. Just roll on and enjoy the rush. NICE!

90 mph is it for me!! it will go more but doesn't feel stable enough and now that i'm old.. it takes tooo long to heal

+1 on that! Once mine hits 90, that's all I wanna do....it does start getting squirrely with the faring and such blowing around.... :moped:

I,m hitting.60, 65,coming out of 2 nd gear.and 3rd is 80,85.and,have wrap around, shades,or the watering :clapping: :music: eyes.will get you to slow down..
