hi . just wondering if any uk wingers know of a bike mechanic near south coast specialising in wings as most down this way can't or won't work on a 30 year old machine thanks in advance.

Finding a shop that specializes in 30 year old bikes is near impossible anywhere. That is part of the purpose of this forum. Basic tool knowledge and members here can help you fix most anything on these old ladies.

+1 on above posts. Our local Honda dealer won't touch the 1100 or 1200, I'm not sure why but they don't want to mess with them. There are a lot of good knowledgeable people on this forum.

not having access to a garage makes it difficult to carry out any long jobs on the wing that and the weather at the moment. i need to replace fork oil seals and that can't be done at the roadside or can it

Do you have space for a shed? Out of the weather is much nicer. Yes fork seals can be done outside but it's not easy that way.

Main thing is get front up and supported so you can remove forks and the fairing if you want elbow room.. the fairing is more Billy awkward then heavy.. and can be placed in a room to put it out of the way if need be.. some folk have replaced the seals with the tubes installed... others prefer to remove them from the triple trees... as long as you can access the bottom bolts and the circlips that hold the seals in place you can do in it a driveway... or on a porch slab.. it is messy from remaining oil.. a bucket comes in handy to drain oil into.. if you go this far you might want to consider changing fork springs to progressives.. that way you have new springs also.. one tear down fixes 2 issues.. old springs may fail down road and the process begins the same way...

excellent idea joep thank you i reckon replacing springs makes sense as well im thinking about a 3-4 hours for the job
