Main thing is get front up and supported so you can remove forks and the fairing if you want elbow room.. the fairing is more Billy awkward then heavy.. and can be placed in a room to put it out of the way if need be.. some folk have replaced the seals with the tubes installed... others prefer to remove them from the triple trees... as long as you can access the bottom bolts and the circlips that hold the seals in place you can do in it a driveway... or on a porch slab.. it is messy from remaining oil.. a bucket comes in handy to drain oil into.. if you go this far you might want to consider changing fork springs to progressives.. that way you have new springs also.. one tear down fixes 2 issues.. old springs may fail down road and the process begins the same way...
