I have all the parts now for the 84 Interstate to make it roadable... The bike has heated grips on it which I would like to swap over... What is the easiest way to transfer grips to the new set of stock bars I got for it...
Thanks
Russ

Regular grips I just jam a bar under them to loosen and work them off. Might damage grip heaters though. I've not had them yet to attempt it.

Slabghost -- What do you mean by "jamming a bar" under them???
Thin bar stock. Like a number 1 phillips screwdriver or a welding rod. I've even used long nails but you need pliers to hang on to those. Whatever I had handy to break the seal.

OK... Thank you... I have some thin stock I used to make a slim jim long time ago... I will try... Being in Florida,,, I don't think I will need heated grips but I thought they would help with my arthritis that I have in my hands... Went out yesterday and it was so hot,,, I was thinking about one of the "keep cool" vests... Just have to find one... It will make a good birthday present to myself...

I bought this one.

And one of the evaporative cool vests. Evap isn't so great with higher humidity but it does help.

Texas to PA in August. I am in the market for one of those!

I recommend at least one spare freezer pack set. Cooler or freeze bag with ice in it will keep it cold and recool the used pack. It only cost me another $25 for a set.
