Other than the guys across the street shooting of fireworks til midnight it's was a pretty good day.

We were going to the Dodger stadium where they have a real big fireworks display but decided to stay home and play cards since it was so hot out.
My 8 year old still got to see plenty around the neighborhood and we shot off a bunch of our own.
My oldest girl (16) was VERY happy she could spend the evening with her friends instead of grandma and grandpa.

We sat outside mostly listening to cheap neighborhood fireworks and the emergency trucks. I still have no idea who or what got hurt. We are all fine here.

 went for a 60 mile ride.on the 1500. :Egyptian:. started just before sunset and got back in time to see the capitol fourth celebration on PBS :yahoo:  so had my cake and ate it too :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

$2,000 fines around here for personal fireworks. But if you're so inclined, you can fight crowds and traffic in several places to watch the fireworks display at harbors, piers and beaches.

Here's a shot from our campsite at sunset. We have people come over every year to camp. One of my compadres is the maintenance supervisor in the local state park, so I get a free camp site with all the firewood I need. This year we had enough people and tents to require 2 adjoining campsites.
