Hello,

I am new to this forum and would like to introduce myself.

My name is Armin, I am German-Austrian originally and proud Coloradan now and have been living in Boulder County for quite some time now.

I love bikes from the 80's, never thought I would end up with a Goldwing and actually ended up with two: a 1981 GL1100 Standard (~28,000 miles) and a 1986 GL1200 Interstate (barely broken in with 19,500 miles).

With the exception of some stumbling at low throttle openings (GL1100; I will post my questions in the right forum) both bikes are running very well and my goal is to go through both from front to end and make sure they are in good shape.

I will post pictures as soon as I have enough posts. I am sure I will have lots of questions!

Greetings from the Front Range,
Armin

Welcome to the CGW Forums, MtnMan!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Sure hope you're not in the way of those fires up there! :heat:

Thanks very much for the friendly welcome!

I feel right at home here :good:

I am studying lots of posts and tech references but I am sure I will still have some very basic questions. I hope the experts don't mind!

My handsome 1981 GL1100 in the hills above Boulder:

The fires were quite extreme here and when they were finally under control we got the smoke from another fire up in Wyoming. Finally some rain, people are jumping up and down!

Cheers,
Armin

Ohhh! I'd be very pleased if my 81 looked so good! No one here minds questions. We all came here for answers.

Good, because some of the answers to my questions will be obvious to the experts! I will always do my research, but I am still at the beginning of my Goldwing career.

The picture is a little flattering, I have to say. It must be the Colorado sun :heat:

:swoon: I own a 1977 Black G L 1000, and I wish mine looked HALF that good.

I live in MAS. now but in the next couple weeks I will be moving to W Va. Hope to hear from you on the restoration's. :moped:

Welcome from central Calif. EPA fuled fires are thanks to EPA for not letting the managing agencies control the over grouth of forests and plains ergo too much fule when a fire starts they loose control because of the high temps and abundence of fules on the Ground, ETC. ETC. ETC...... :ahem: :ahem: :ahem: :deadhorse:

:hi: Nice looking bike. I have a 1977 black wing all original, except for the extras I have put on it. It looks like you have bars on the back for bags? do you use them?
Good luck with the bikes. I know you will really love the Wing.
