Just wanted to wave a hand here on the forum....

Dan Here from Winnipeg, MB, Canada, just picked up a GL1100 Interstate that needs some...well.. lots of work. figured I would start here and try to make some friends and learn some stuff on the way. I am new to Goldwings but not to bikes in general, been dumping clutches since the 4th grade. 2 wheels, 3, 4, 18, 34... some stuff with no wheels, if it drives I want a turn! :) :rocks:

Welcome. :hi: 34 Wheels?

Yup! pulled turnpike doubles for 5 years, tractor trailer with 2-53' tandem or triple axle trailers behind. 130' and 140,000lbs of pure fun @65mph :)

Welcome to the group Dan! You got me beat for wheels... mine is only 28... but 897k @ 150mph... more like sitting at a desk, pushing buttons...

Yeah... it was actually pretty undramatic doing it, the biggest problem being that the Northeast Corridor right of ways have too many limitations to provide efficient running at speed. Most of my time was either underneath, alongside, or inside, with cabinets, housings, and covers pulled off teaching maintainance, troubleshooting, and repair. My current company's Embraer is much lighter, but almost four times faster...

Pretty darned close... something crazy like 470kts at 42,000ft... took about an hour and a half to go from Moline to Gettysburg, PA...
