I installed the little accelerator cup that came with the new kit. You think I should clean and reinstall the old one?

I did not know the kit came with that. The kits I have seen only come with the pump plunger, spring and o-rings.

Well I did come with the kit I got but in my oppinion the only good in the kit were the float bowls gaskets. I don't recommend these kits:

Normally the accelerator pump not working affects only sudden quick twists of the throttle.
It will stumble as it needs more gas to compensate but shouldn't affect gradual throttle twists causing a bog or stumble.

I don't know anything about anything, but if the pump should test 2.4 lbs pressure and only comes out at 1 lb...

Is ti an electric or mechanical pump? when I serched it up looks like electric? if I use one of these do I need a low presure fuel regulator?

No regulator on any of mine, :nea: they put out a little more pressure than stock, 2, to 3.5, P S I. :good: Ran it through the kill switch relay, on the 1100's if memory serves me, :headscratch: made a jumper harness to plug & play on my 1200's. :yes:

Hi cowboy45,
i would like to get a better understanding of the kits and why you would not recommend them. It will help me (and others) from spending good money on inferior products !!!

Well, there are s few things with this kit.
1. The rubber with this kit i felt it was a little thin compared to the rubber from the kit i removed. The fitting was not the right one to create a good seal when assembling the carbs. Speaking of the manifold, plenum and o rings. Some of then were righ though like the mixture crews o rings.
2 the cut of valves didnt feelt like the seated well on the brass/metal part.
3 the accel pump little gasket in the accordion shape did have a tight seal along with the accel shaft. I did noticed that when i twisted the throttle with the engine off, you could heare a little squizze comin from around there. I got another accel pump (k&n brand) and this one had a very tight seal and no squizzing sound.
4 the o rings for the fuel tubes between the carbs didnt feel that has a good seal neither.

Im no expert mechanic but I think by commun sense I felt the kist where not good quality.

Hope this little description helps with the subject. I can send pics to try to explain better.

I used a kit from Wincycles too & was less than happy. I (eventually) completely tore the carbs down...ended up with leftover o-rings that didn't seem to belong anywhere...also had to re-use a few old ones. They sent me 4 of the same individual carb kits and each one had an acclerator pump kit. 4 bowls, 4 diaphragms etc......but none of the kits had the 0-ring that goes between the float bowl and carb body. I went back and forth with Wincycles several times, including sending pictures of the o-ring I needed. They sent me ones that didn't fit...the last time it seemed like they just threw a bunch of different sized o-rings in the package. I have a Harbor Freight 0-ring assortment and none of them would fit properly either. I emailed Randal at Randakks and he graciously took care of me (actually sent an extra one). A couple of the diaphragms didn't seem to be fitted properly to the shaft...you could hold the shaft and rotate the diaphragm. I found one that I could trust and used it. It turns out that while my original diaphragm was bad, the passages in the rack for the accel pump were plugged...the orifice on the nozzle is VERY small... I used the new float needles and seats but re-used the old floats so I wouldn't have to set the float level. BIG MISTAKE!!!.....had to pull the rack AGAIN and set the floats. This was over the winter of 2015-2016. The carbs are now still perfect. Anyone planning to rebuild their carbs would be well served to pay the extra hundred bucks and get the Randakk kit.

Well I must say that I'm now a very happy oldwing owner.

My oldwing now rides! I returned all the original jets and the accel pump cup, recleaned all I could, rechecked floats level and set the mixture screws to 2.5 turns and it drives now. No bogging, no slow die on constant throttle at high rpms.
I'm still to re sync the carbs and add some atf as sugested by some of you! Then next thing is ride and ride!

Probably not enough power to scare someone that has a lot of seat time, but they will still scoot pretty good. I've had mine for almost three years and have had a lot of down time, but have it finally right. Feels goooood! Well done on yours.
