What is the plan then? Take the head to the machinist? Or true it yourself? I expect there will also be low spots on the motor surface for the head also. A long mill file will do a great job making them flat.

I can wait. Radiator will be here next week, hook that up and then take it from there. I will also install a new thermostat and the hose to overflow.

If I have to pull the head, there is a machinist an hour away that can mill it. As far as the block surface, I will have to go back and read the thread showing how that's done. After all of this , if it blows again, I'm done with this engine and will move to my plan B. but lets hope it does not come to that.
I'm still puzzled as to why the steam is not wet, maybe its not steam but sure looks like it.

It is possible that the piston rings are bad on that side and it's oil blow by your seeing. My '78 smokes off and on and I'm expecting to have to put on new rings soon.

It might not be steam. But with no smell and not wet I can't guess what it might be. Oil would be making blue smoke. Raw fuel can make a white smoke but it'd stink.

I just removed the radiator and the coolant has traces of oil in it just like before.
Did you flush the engine and radiator prior to re-installing? (Could be oil that was still in the system?) Just trying to be hopeful.

I also watched your video a few times and unless it was a real humid day, that steam/smoke is carrying a long way before it dissipates. Are there any traces of coolant at the tailpipe after the engine cools? That much white smoke/steam should leave a trace of coolant.

I am almost under the opinion that it is un-burned gasoline. As the engine sits cold, pull the plugs and take a sniff. See if they smell of gas.

Another slim possibility.....I noticed in the original video (after heads were back on) a bit of smoke as the engine ran. But in this video, the bike is on the side stand. You didn't happen to by chance fill the oil and check the level while it was on the side stand?

If so, you will be way overfilled with oil and it will run up into the head and cause smoke out the left side. (Here is to hoping again! :beg: )

I did flush the radiator very well. With the engine I made sure to give her an oil and filter change.
I just dont see any trace s of coolant, and no sweet smell either.

Just checked the oil level with bike on center stand and it is good. It is also nice and clear too, so no coolant in oil.

Would wait to tear apart, :nea: as season is almost over, :headscratch: so take your time. :thank_you:

I might have found the problem. Let me know if this could be causing all the white smoke. I pulled plugs 2 & 4 , 4 was normal but 2 smelled like gas, I mean big time. What's going on here?

What is going on here? Could be good news!! Stuck carb float or dirty float needle seat! :yahoo: (Would sure beat pulling the head again!)

could be gas just pouring in the exhaust and the radiator compromised also loosing water right at cap ...to fool one into thinking head and gasket problem ....so far ive only known of one head crack on this forum in yrs ...and it was 1200 witch has air channels and was where it cracked ..... :headscratch:

Aaaaaaaaaaaah man, this would be great :yahoo: Okay, I have never cleaned carbs before. I know some have suggested atf in gas. My former 1200 in the video (silver and black, should never have sold that) carbs were shipped to Mike Nixon and they worked amazing but that was pricey.
I will also check spark as well.
Any other suggestions. I knew there was a reason the exhaust didn't smell like coolant.
