How to repair a broken fairing deflector piece

I know it's not a big deal, but the fairing deflector on the left side of my '89 GL1500 had a broken hook and I wanted something that would hold the part in the hole.

I found a small part from a florescent light (the little tab that holds the sheet metal on the box) and thought it might work for my bike. And it did!

The first thing I did was cut one end off.

Then I bent the remaining tabs down against the body of the part.

Next I used Q-Bond black powered and sprinkled it around then used a few drops of the glue.

After a few seconds of drying I sprinkled more of the Q-Bond black powered and more glue.

And then I just put it back on the bike.

I just eyeballed it and it came out correct! And I hope this is useful to someone.

Nice!..That's why I don't throw anything away, never know what it can be used for later.
