I have a Shoei full face - it is time for a new one....

I have been looking at Arai's

I like the fit.....

Anybody else? How dd you decide on the model? they are fitted to head shape - oval, round etc. I have no idea what shape head mine be

they aren't cheap....

I bought one of these Bilt helmets in flat black at the Cycle Gear store here in Norfolk back in Sept...was on sale for 50% off, so only cost $50, with my military discount...fits nice, it's quiet, pretty decent fit and finish, and for $50, I couldn't go wrong!

When I had my sportbikes, I usually wore a Shoei helmet. My head fit the Shoei mold much better than an Arai. Try a size up and size down, and if it still doesn't "feel" right, then you should probably pass on that brand or model of helmet. I really like the Bilt one that I got, and the flat black actually doesn't look too bad. I think it would be a good helmet even at the normal price of $100, but at $50, it was a steal!

fify bucks - must not have padding..... :smilie_happy:

sorry.... How do they make $ selling them for that low a price?

I have read reviews/stuff about helmets and just cause they cost less doesn't mean they aren't worthy/don't have a dot/snell rating.

I liked my Shoei up until a yr or so ago. After a couple hrs with it on it starts to get hard/rub/something on the forehead to where it isn't comfortable to wear. It is better than no helmet, but it's got 7yrs on it.

I will try some others, but Arai is plush! I just can't figure out all the shapes / models.

profile, quantum, corsair, rxq, vector etc...

I am going for basic white or silver....

Where in SoCal? I used to live in Anaheim - loooong time ago.....

I like the yellow wing - are those lester rims on the front?

The fit varies from brand to brand and even within the same brand sometimes.
The last full face I bought took me going to 3 different stores to find one that felt comfortable around my ears and jaw.
I don't see how a helmet can be bought online unless you know the exact model number to order.
From what I've read though if they have a DOT they are ok.

I'm using an HJC full face that I bought on line from Bike Bandit. Bought it for the flip up jaw piece. I think it was on sale for $125. The interior padding is removable and washable. That feature plus the flip up jaw piece made it very appealing for use here in Eastern MD where we have humidity like FL. Being able to open the helmet up at stop lights makes riding in traffic bearable. The cheek pads were real tight when I got it but after a week the helmet took a set and fit like a glove.

Hey Pony Ruiz

The Cycle Gear store here in Norfolk was bursting at the seams with stuff, and they had a stack of these helmets right by the front door. I think they have gloss black, flat black, and silver, from what I remember. I think mine is a Large, I'd have to take it out of the helmet bag and check to be sure. But I think it's a pretty good helmet, even at 2-3 times the price. 'Course I've only had it a few weeks, and only worn it 2 or 3 times, but so far it was $50 well spent.

I still have a house up in Ventura County, which is between LA and Santa Barbara. Anaheim, ah yes, the home of Mickey Mouse and all those other deviant Disney characters. The happiest place on earth, my a$$, lol! The wheels on my bike look like yours. The previous owner stripped the paint off the wheels, then I think he painted them silver and clear-coated them.
