I need some help with my 1200 I

I have run into a problem with the install of the throttle boss... I have the new handle bars on and when doing the right side grip with throttle boss... I cannot get the cable in the boss... I have the left side cable in the boss but the right side cable is about an 1/8 inch short and cannot get it in the boss... Do I have to take the tank cover off and if so,,, how???

Might need to disconnect the cable from the carbs. That should give you another inch of cable. Be sure to reattach the cables with just a bit of slack. Too tight or loose you have issues to deal with. Easier to remove the cables if carbs are loose but not impossible to get to with them installed.

i got it... now I have to figure out how to get the tank cover off... I will take the seat off tomorrow and that will get me closer... thanks Slab

Pretty sure the cover is still bolted on like covers for the standards. Two bolts under the front lip of the seat and one either side up front.

The front bolts on the cover can be a little difficult to see at first, but they are their, 10 mm socket with short extension works great.
