I have a 1983 GL 1100 Aspencade. It has no ignition switch at all in it. I am eliminating the air shock control panel that was around the switch, so I believe I could use the switch for the standard which I can get from Parts N More new. Would that be correct as long as I pay attention to the connector positions and move them if necessary?

I thought there was a difference between the 83A and all the other year's ignitions. There is a difference in part numbers for sure.
From reading in several places, the difference is the height of the lock cylinder. That is what I have gathered at least.
Ignition came yesterday, it fits the mount and looks good. I believe it will work just fine, of course, the bike is in pieces so it will be awhile before we know...
